UK tender portals: the main list, official links (Oct 2026)

Updated

This page lists the main UK tender portals, the places UK public sector tenders are published, with the official link for each and a plain note on who uses it (official links as listed by gov.uk or checked by us, reviewed 11 October 2026). Depending on where you work, the answer to “where do I need to look?” may be two or three of these, not all of them.

Find a Tender is the central digital platform under the Procurement Act 2023, and the one place every supplier should register. The devolved nations, individual buyers and central buying bodies each add their own portals. TenderWorthy collects from Find a Tender and Contracts Finder only. We say so in the table so you can see the gaps.

National UK tender portals

Find a Tender (central digital platform)

gov.uk’s central digital platform guidance describes it as the online system referenced in the Procurement Act 2023, at find-tender.service.gov.uk. It is where you search for notices and where you register your organisation as a supplier. Registration is free, according to the official e-learning. gov.uk’s short guide says notices are “designed to allow interested parties to look at them free of charge”, and you can save a search to be emailed when a matching notice is posted. Our setup walkthrough shows how.

Contracts Finder

Contracts Finder lets you search for contracts worth over £12,000 (including VAT), and an account gives you email updates and saved searches. Under PPN 019, it applies only to procurements started under the old regulations, and new below-threshold opportunities must be advertised on Find a Tender. It is not closed. Read Find a Tender versus Contracts Finder for the full picture, or browse live tenders from both.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

gov.uk’s guidance on public-sector procurement (updated June 2024) lists Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales and eTendersNI alongside Contracts Finder as portals for public sector opportunities. In the week to 10 Oct 2026 we counted 21 live notices with a Scottish delivery region, 41 Welsh and 8 Northern Irish across Find a Tender and Contracts Finder. The Scottish figure is small partly because Scottish devolved authorities are generally outside the Act (devolved authorities guidance, para 24), so many Scottish opportunities sit on Public Contracts Scotland.

Public Contracts Scotland

Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) is the Scottish Government’s national portal, per gov.scot. Scottish devolved authorities are generally excluded from the Procurement Act 2023 (devolved authorities guidance, para 24) and Scottish public bodies continue to use their own rules, such as the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. gov.scot says registration is free and gives email alerts. PCS-Tender is a separate system for submitting bids. See tenders in Scotland.

Sell2Wales

Sell2Wales is described by Business Wales as the Welsh Government’s portal, and registration is free. Welsh devolved authorities are regulated by the Act (guidance, para 16). See tenders in Wales.

eTendersNI

eTendersNI is run by the Department of Finance’s Construction and Procurement Delivery (CPD). The Department says you need a D-U-N-S number to register, and that there is no charge for obtaining one (common questions). See tenders in Northern Ireland.

Buyer e-tendering portals (where you submit bids)

Some councils, NHS bodies and universities run their own e-tendering system, where you register, download documents and submit your bid. Names you may see include ProContract, Delta eSourcing, Jaggaer and Atamis. Jaggaer is set up per buyer, so there is no single supplier address for it.

The practical rule: the notice on Find a Tender or Contracts Finder tells you which portal to use. Open the buyer’s own procurement page before you register. Registration terms, fees and alert options vary by buyer, so we do not state them here.

Sector and central buying bodies

Government Commercial Agency (formerly Crown Commercial Service). gov.uk says Crown Commercial Service is now called Government Commercial Agency, and the agency’s annual report and accounts say that on 1 April 2026 Crown Commercial Service was combined with several commercial teams from the Cabinet Office and became the Government Commercial Agency. Its gov.uk page describes it as an executive agency sponsored by the Cabinet Office that helps the public sector buy common goods and services, at gca.gov.uk. It offers commercial agreements (frameworks) for public buyers; the annual report uses the term “commercial agreements” and names Management Consultancy Framework 3 and 4 among them. See frameworks and dynamic markets.

Digital Marketplace (G-Cloud). gov.uk says you must apply to sell your services on the Digital Marketplace, which includes the G-Cloud framework. The apply-to-supply address is applytosupply.digitalmarketplace.service.gov.uk.

Ministry of Defence. The MOD publishes opportunities on its Defence Sourcing Portal at contracts.mod.uk. The Procurement at MOD page says the portal “hosts all of MOD’s advertised requirements”, that it is free to access, and that you can be notified of opportunities by category codes.

NHS. NHS bodies buy through several routes. See NHS tenders for suppliers. This list does not include NHS Supply Chain’s own portal.

Where to look, by where you work

  • England: start with Find a Tender, and keep a Contracts Finder alert while procurements started under the old rules are still open (PPN 019).
  • Scotland: add Public Contracts Scotland, because Scottish devolved authorities are generally outside the Procurement Act 2023 (para 24 of the devolved authorities guidance).
  • Wales: add Sell2Wales. Welsh devolved authorities are regulated by the Act (para 16 of the same guidance), so some Welsh notices also appear on Find a Tender.
  • Northern Ireland: add eTendersNI, run by the Department of Finance’s Construction and Procurement Delivery (CPD).
  • Defence work: the MOD’s Defence Sourcing Portal, as above.

Do you need to register on all of them?

No. Register your organisation on Find a Tender first. gov.uk’s central digital platform guidance says suppliers store core organisational information there and share it only with the buyers they choose, so that record is useful for every covered procurement. Then:

  1. Set up free saved searches on Find a Tender and Contracts Finder.
  2. Add the devolved portal for where you work (PCS in Scotland, Sell2Wales in Wales, eTendersNI in Northern Ireland).
  3. Register on a buyer’s own portal only when a tender you want to bid for uses it.

If you would like Find a Tender and Contracts Finder in one email each morning on days with new matches, with notices that fit your trade and area compared with your insurance and certifications, that is what TenderWorthy’s Pro plan does. We do not collect from the other portals above, so you would still use those directly. See how we check for what we cannot see.

Questions

What is the main UK government tender portal?

Find a Tender. gov.uk guidance describes it as the central digital platform referred to in the Procurement Act 2023, at find-tender.service.gov.uk. gov.uk says notices are "designed to allow interested parties to look at them free of charge". Scottish public bodies are generally outside the Act, so Scottish opportunities are often on Public Contracts Scotland instead.

Is Contracts Finder still used?

Yes, for procurements started under the old Public Contracts Regulations. PPN 019 says its rules apply only to those, and that new below-threshold opportunities must be advertised on Find a Tender. It has not been closed.

Do I have to pay to access UK tender portals?

Viewing government notices is free: gov.uk says Find a Tender notices are "designed to allow interested parties to look at them free of charge", and Contracts Finder lets you search without an account. The Scottish Government and Business Wales each describe registration on their portal as free; for eTendersNI, Northern Ireland's Department of Finance says you need a D-U-N-S number, which is free to obtain. Buyers' own e-tendering portals vary, so check the buyer's page.

Do Scottish and Welsh tenders appear on Find a Tender?

Some do. Welsh devolved authorities are regulated by the Procurement Act 2023, while Scottish devolved authorities are generally excluded from it, according to gov.uk guidance. In the week to 10 Oct 2026 we counted 21 live notices with a Scottish delivery region and 41 with a Welsh one across Find a Tender and Contracts Finder, so check the devolved portals too.

What happened to Crown Commercial Service?

gov.uk says Crown Commercial Service is now called Government Commercial Agency. The agency's annual report and accounts for 2025 to 2026 say that on 1 April 2026 Crown Commercial Service was combined with several commercial teams from the Cabinet Office and became the Government Commercial Agency.

Do I need to register on every portal?

No. Register on Find a Tender, which is where buyers will ask for your supplier information. Then register on a buyer's own portal only when a tender you want to bid for uses it.
